Why did you have to schedule Wilco and Elvis Costello at essentially the EXACT SAME TIME? See, I have this, like, lifetime concert wishlist and both of ‘em—along with R.E.M. and Nicky D. Lowe—are in the top five1 and now I’m forced to choose between the two. Both of them have brand new albums coming out in June and both of them have spent an equal amount of time rocking my suburbs.2 WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? Because I kind of hate you in the face.
Also, to a lesser degree, you did the same thing on Thursday by overlapping White Rabbits and the Delta Spirit.
I do not love you like a sister right now.

1I’m going to have to give some thought to who I’d drop in the number five slot. In the first five months of this year, I managed to catch Morrissey (twice), Robyn Hitchcock (twice) and the remaining members of the Grateful Dead, all of which previously held places on the list. Not to mention the fact that the day I get back from Tennessee, I’ll have just enough time to scrub the ‘Roo off my skin before heading to Charlotte for 2/5 of the original New York Dolls.3
2 Not a euphemism.
3 Two sixths (one third, whatever) if you count original drummer Billy Murcia, although if this were an SAT question, I’d say Billy M : New York Dolls :: Stu Sutcliffe : The Beatles.
I’m very excited to see Robyn Hitchcock at Bonnaroo 2009!
For me, some of the major schedule conflicts are
Nine Inch Nails at the same time as Ben Harper
David Byrne at the same time as Beastie Boys
Citizen Cope overlapping with The Dillinger Escape Plan and High On Fire
…oh well, Bonnaroo likes to split up the crowds…
