I’m very excited to see Ben Sollee a fellow Kentuckian, a fellow Lexingtonian, and a fellow political activist. Did I mention that I played cello in elementary school? Ha! So, it’s fitting that Ben Sollee poses here with his cello in a junkyard sitting atop some castaway automobiles. Ben Sollee is bicycling from Lexington, Kentucky leaving this week. Ben will bicycle, with his cello, and will play several shows along the way. I wonder if he will even make it to Bonnaroo in time. I hope that he takes somebody with him. Ben also bicycled home (he lived in Louisville, Kentucky at the time) from Austin, Texas after playing at SXSW. No wonder he stays rail thin. Also, he’s known to have freestyle rappers join-in some of his shows. In addition, fellow Sparrow quartet member Bela Fleck is a possible collaborator as is Trey Anastasio who has worked with Ben Sollee on some of Trey’s solo work.
