I have thoroughly been enjoying A.A. Bondy’s debut disc and I have listened to it over a dozen times in the past week since I bought it. He is a pleasant discovery as I had never heard of him before exploring some unknown Bonnaroo artists. He reminds me of Woody Guthrie and early Bob Dylan. Some of the lyrics from “Rapture (Sweet Rapture)” frequently invade my brain. A.A. Bondy would have a lower ranking if it wasn’t for some schedule conflicts as half of his amplified set overlaps with Ben Sollee’s Sonic Stage set and his Sonic Stage set conflicts with sets by Andrew Bird, Merle Haggard, and Shadows Fall.
Still, I will be sure to watch him some at Bonnaroo and I will continue to enjoy his c.d.
